A with a Canada-wide driving suspension has been arrested after allegedly crashing a stolen semi-trailer truck into a police cruiser in Brampton, Ont.

A 42-year-old with a Canada-wide driving suspension was arrested for allegedly stealing and crashing a semi-trailer truck into a police cruiser in Brampton, Ont., Peel police said.

Investigators said the truck was stolen near East Drive and Torbram Road on Sunday, and it was located on Monday, attached to a stolen trailer from Halton Region. Peel police say they attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle instead struck a cruiser, “causing extensive damage.” They added that the driver later fled on foot, as police said the truck “became inoperable.”

No injuries were reported.

Nirmal Singh, of Brampton, who has also been suspended from driving in Canada, was charged with 17 offences. A full list of charges is available here.
